Construction began on the Paris Las Vegas Resort & Casino and its accompanying tower in 1997, with its completion taking place the following year. The Paris connects to its sister hotel, Bally’s, via tram. Initially, plans included a full-size replica of the famous Eiffel Tower, but due to flight path concerns from McCarran Airport, the tower had to be scaled down. Despite the reduction in its size, the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas still offers the highest viewpoint of the Las Vegas Strip. At its architectural height, it stands over 12 meters taller than the High Roller Ferris wheel at the nearby LINQ. It’s become a popular place to celebrate Valentine’s Day, host a wedding, and, thanks to the Eiffel Tower Experience, take selfies.

Gehry wanted to create a place that was memorable:”… The mantra is Keep Memory Alive… “he pointed. “…I’m trying to make a building that people want to visit, remember, speak, and enjoy, and ultimately partner with us in the center to help cure brain diseases…

Wynn's Atlandia Design worked with Jon Jerde and Olio Design to create the pirate village and lagoon area, originally known as Buccaneer Bay, and later as Siren's Cove. Jerde's assistants traveled across Europe, India, and Nepal searching for historic objects such as doors and columns, which were then replicated for Buccaneer Bay. The lagoon is 65 feet deep, and originally contained 2 million gallons of water. It uses wastewater recycled from a water treatment plant located beneath the resort's parking garage.

The cathedral was constructed starting in 1858 to accommodate the growing Archdiocese of New York and to replace St. Patrick's Old Cathedral. Work was halted in the early 1860s during the American Civil War; the cathedral was completed in 1878 and dedicated on May 25, 1879.
